| Gina and her crew |
 |
Gina was born and raised in Aroostook County
Maine. She has loved and been involved with animals
all her life. As a child, she grew up with horses,
cows, cats and dogs. At a very young age, she
told her dad that she was going to work with animals
when she grew up. He said she would change her
mind 100 times before then. How wrong he was!
In 1987 Gina attended college for Animal Medical
Technology at the University of Maine, Orono.
After receiving her license as a Veterinary Technician
in 1989, she worked as a surgical technician for
15 years at a local animal hospital. In 2002,
Gina relocated to work at the Animal Wellness
Center where she could pursue her love for alternative
medicine.
Gina shares her life with several wonderful terriers. She shows her dogs regularly
in Agility and various other events including
Lure Coursing, JRT Racing, Go to Ground and Tracking.
Her constant
passion is the pursuit of total health by learning
and applying alternative medicines to both herself
and her pets.
Gina also enjoys many outdoor activities such
as hiking and kayaking.

| Jamie with
Gem |
|
Jamie was born
and raised in Benton - a small town in central
Maine. She grew up on a farm with 1 older sister
and 2 younger brothers. Her family raised milking
shorthorn cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens and horses,
spending most of their summers in the hayfield
and then relaxing by the pool afterwards.
After graduating from a local high school, Jamie
attended to the University of New Hampshire for
3 years where she graduated with 2 degrees - one
in Small Animal Care and the other in Equine Management.
After graduating from UNH, she went to work for
Johnny's Selected Seed, doing everything from
shipping packages, packing seeds, mailing the
catalog and working in the fields. After 3 years
at Johnny's, Jamie went to work for a central
Maine veterinary clinic. There she learned about
receptionist work, dentals, surgery, lab work
and x-rays.

to veterinary medicine and enjoying every minute
of it! 6 years later Jamie still loves her work
at the Animal Wellness Center.
When
not at work, Jamie enjoys horseback riding and
anything that has to do with horses, stained
glass,
reading, photography, music, gardening, being
outdoors, and mostly being with her friends and
family. She currently lives with her boyfriend
and son.
